High Speed Internet

IGL TeleConnect uses both fiber and fixed wireless technology to provide internet service. These broadband services deliver high speed internet access to rural areas and other locations as an alternative to satellite or cable connections. Broadband signals can function over several miles and provide superior internet speeds.

In order to receive fixed wireless internet, we will install a receiver on your home or outbuilding. It will communicate with the nearest base station and bring you access to the internet via a cable carrying the signal from the receiver to the router in your home.

In order to receive fiber internet, we will install a Network Interface Device (NID) on your home or outbuilding. A NID is a housing unit that connects the underground fiber cable to the fiber cable that we will run inside your home. These fiber cables will communicate to bring you access to the internet via an ONT, or router, that is then placed within your home.

IGL offers fixed wireless standard internet of 12 Mbps download/3 Mbps upload. Megabits per second (Mbps) refers to data transfer speeds. *Faster fixed wireless speeds may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis.*

IGL offers fiber internet speeds of 8 Mbps download/4 Mbps upload all the way up to 1000Mbps download/250 Mbps upload.

IGL provides fixed wireless internet signal through base stations located in Lake Park, Spirit Lake, Superior, Gruver, Milford, Langdon, Spencer, Gillett Grove, Webb, Greenville, Sioux Rapids, Peterson, Terril, Everly, Dickens, Rossie & Linn Grove.

IGL TeleConnect provides customers with all the equipment they need to enjoy the benefits of this technology, including the radio (for fixed wireless) and wireless router (for both fixed wireless and fiber service).
